PawFriends’ Westlake Sterilisation Fundraising Program

What is it?

PawFriends, working closely with the Animal Rescue Organisation and pet owners in Westlake, are sterilising cats and dogs in Westlake to prevent unwanted litters.

How does it work?

The mass sterilisation project aims to not only sterilise animals but also educate the community on general animal welfare matters. In terms of the sterilisation, this project will:

  • Improve animal health and welfare.
  • Reduce aggressive dog behaviour.
  • Reduce the number of stray animals.
  • Prevent unnecessary euthanasia of animals.

Who are the Beneficiaries?

PawFriends are working with pet owners in Westlake in Ward 71, but also work further afield.

How can you get involved or support?

Funds are always the challenge! Animal Rescue Organisation’s cost for sterilising an animal is R300 and there is an additional charge of R150 to transport the animals to the facilities.
